PHP Upgrade on our Linux Shared Hosting Servers |
Dear customers,
Hope you are doing well during these strange times[dot]
We are working towards making our Linux Shared Hosting Platform more stable and secure[dot] One of the best ways we can do this is to stop supporting older versions of PHP that is no longer supported by the community[dot] As part of this security effort, we request that you get your websites upgraded to PHP version 8 or above[dot] What needs to be done? You can manage the PHP version from the MultiPHP Manager option in your cPanel[dot] Please ignore this message if your websites are already running on PHP 8[dot]0 or above[dot] Which versions are we removing?
As the lifecycle of PHP 7[dot]3 ended last year and the lifecycle of PHP 7[dot]4 will end in November 2022[dot] Hence, PHP will no longer provide security updates to these versions[dot] Thus, we are going to remove PHP 7[dot]3 and 7[dot]4 completely from our servers[dot]
Things to Note down: PHP 7[dot]3 and PHP 7[dot]4 will no longer be supported by the PHP community[dot] That’s why you should upgrade to a newer version now[dot] Anyone running PHP 7[dot]3/7[dot]4 on their server after the “end-of-life” date will not be protected against new security vulnerabilities[dot] When can you expect these changes? As conveyed earlier, we have already initiated this activity on the servers[dot] We request that you get your websites upgraded to PHP version 8[dot]0 or above[dot] If that is not possible, we will attempt to upgrade the PHP version from the Cpanel and will revert the change immediately in case the website does not work on the higher version[dot] For any queries, please feel free to contact our support team[dot] Thanks & Regards The Globehost Support Team |
